A Practical Plan for Contractors
 The NCPD has established a practical protocol for contractors that includes low cost or no cost ways of dealing with paint left over from paint jobs. Residential contractors will leave the balance of paint with homeowners for touch-up, if agreed to by their clients. Industrial contractors and residential contractors with unwanted architectural coatings may bring their materials to local paint recycling centers and be charged a nominal recycling fee. Contractors dealing with industrial coatings will be supplied with written instructions by the paint dealer at the time of purchase for the proper handling of unwanted industrial coatings. The recycling of the contents of industrial coatings will be handled by approved outside recycling contractors. A list of approved recycling contractors will be provided to the industrial contractor at the time of purchase.
