Companies Get Rid of Unwanted Paint
 AND Help Those in Need
Get rid of your unwanted cans of paint and get back valuable space while doing something good for charities. The National Council on Paint Disposition, Inc. (NCPD) has developed a nationwide data base of not-for-profit organizations, that are looking for donations of paint. With this program your unwanted paint could be put to better use by charities that have limited or simply no money for paint.
Avoid paying expensive disposal fees, often costing $5 per gallon or more, and get back valuable space! The NCPD, which itself is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization, has compiled a nationwide database of over 7,600 charities looking for donations of paint. If you have cans of paint that are unopened and usable…we have a charity that can use it! This is definitely a win win; you get back valuable space and save money, while charities get paint that they might ordinarily not be able to afford.
How it Works
The National Council on Paint Disposition (NCPD) matches donors with charities that are looking for paint by zip code. Historically, paint dealers and other commercial establishments who have accumulated a number of gallons of unwanted paint would give all of their unwanted paint to the first charity that would "take it off their hands". The recipient charity would be in such dire need for a contribution of paint, they would accept whatever quantities of paint that was sent their way. These acts of desperation often ended up with passing the disposal problem to the charity, not resolving it. The NCPD's system ensures that the paint problem doesn't get passed along, but spread around to many charities who could benefit from the donation.
The NCPD offers two options for companies looking to donate paint. Option 1: Paint donors can hold an open house at a date and time that is convenient to the donor and allow the area charities to come to the donor's place of business select what they can use and take the paint with them. Option 2: For those donors who prefer to have the paint out of their place of business in one lot, we have developed a Key Charity system to accommodate these requirements. Key Charities are charities that have signed up to receive paint and are willing and able to receive large quantities of paint, up to a truck load. These Key Charities would receive the large quantities of paint, have the opportunity to select first from the shipment of paint, take up to 25% of the paint donation for their own good work, and then allow other surrounding area charities to select and take from the balance of the paint.
Listings of organizations are being made available to retailers and other companies in their respective areas free of charge*.
